19th Reading Sharing Meeting
What does mathematics have to do with our lives? The book sharing ‘Mathematics and Life’ by teacher Ma Wangfang on 30th March in the lecture hall of the west campus undoubtedly gave the best answer.
To start with, ‘Mathematics and Life’ is the work of Japanese writer Keiki Yuanyama, which is the work of mathematics education reform in Japan, aiming to restore mathematics distorted by examinations, present the true face of mathematics to readers, and eliminate the fear of mathematics brought by the test-oriented teaching model. In addition, the book contains the basics of mathematics. Also, in combination with stories from everyday life and mathematics, the book presents the knowledge and principles of mathematics in easy-to-understand language, like an interesting collection of stories.
On the other hand, teacher Ma Wangfang started from four aspects as follows: animal mathematics, human mathematics, photography mathematics and competitive mathematics, so that everyone could truly feel the close relationship between mathematics and our life.
To conclude, mathematics comes from life, and mathematics serves life. In recent years, with the continuous development of society, we need people to have more effective mathematical knowledge, ideas and methods. More remarkably, only by the close integration of mathematics and life can we truly realize the close connection between mathematics and life.
